Kids Worship was an idea that we had with the hopes of helping to blend our younger children into “big church,” understanding what church was about and the importance of learning about God’s word. We wanted something that would be valuable for children and their families, as a whole.
We serve kids from kindergarten to age 10. After our worship through music and announcements, we assemble on the sanctuary platform with the kids before the pastor begins his message. Each sermon lasts for about 7 minutes. We start with an attention-getter, connect it to a story in the Bible then end it in a way that’s shows its relevance to their lives. After this time, the kids transfer downstairs to Children's Church, or return to their seat with their parents to finish the service with the congregation.
Since beginning this program in March of 2019, we have seen an increase in the participation of kids during the service. We have children that sing in the choir, they participate in special singing with other adults or independently. We also have children that sit by the pianist occasionally to see what he’s doing.
Kids Worship Directors are Danielle Williams and Scott Stuart.
