So what is "salvation" all about?

Ever been asked the question “do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior”, or “have you asked Christ to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart”? Chances are you have but was unsure possibly of what the question, or questions, meant!

Over 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ did something for each one of us through His sacrifice on the cross – He built a “bridge” with those two pieces of wood and three nails. That bridge created a way that we could personally be connected to Him directly, admit our shortcomings and faults (sin), obtain mercy (salvation) through His forgiveness, share our thoughts and concerns, and by His grace get direction for our life.

Paul’s writing in Romans 3, verse 23 says that “everyone has sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Yes, everyone. Ministers, Sunday School teachers, Church Board Members, Ushers all are merely sinners who have received salvation through his mercy and grace.

This same God that hung the moon and the stars, knows YOUR name! He created you fearfully and beautifully, wonderous are His works!  He numbered the very hairs on your head. He loves you dearly and wants a personal relationship with each of us, which means you. According to the writing in I John 1:9, “if we admit / confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive them…” Jesus did what He did so that we could, have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

It does not mean that life will automatically be perfect. In fact, satan will try to attack you from all angles.  Stay strong and connected to God constantly. His word will provide you direction and guidance – it truly is the roadmap for life.  It is God’s love letters for you.  Embrace it and walk with Him every step in every day.
